Importing YouTube Videos

YouTube is the most widely supported platform on Stoke. Both public and unlisted videos are supported.

How to Import

• Copy the video URL from your browser or the YouTube app.
• Go to Sources and click "Add Source".
• Paste the URL and click Import.

What Gets Imported

• Video title and description
• Thumbnail image
• Duration
• Full transcript (auto-generated or manual captions)

Private Videos

Private YouTube videos cannot be imported. The URL must be accessible without logging in. Use unlisted videos if you want to import content that isn't publicly visible.

Processing Time

YouTube videos typically process within 5 to 15 seconds. If the video has no captions, Stoke will attempt to generate a transcript automatically, which may take slightly longer.
